Arrest Warrants Issued For Wu-Tang Rapper
It's three strikes and you're out for Wu-Tang member Ol' Dirty Bastard,
aka Big Baby Jesus. A Virginia judge issued three arrest warrants for
the rapper Thursday -- one for each of the scheduled court dates that he
has skipped. Each warrant General District Judge Robert L. Simpson Jr.
issued against the 29-year-old charges him with failure to appear in
court, a misdemeanor that carries up to a year in jail and a $2,500
fine. ODB's charge -- shoplifting -- carries the same maximum penalty.
ODB is accused of stealing a pair of sneakers from a store in Virginia
Beach on July 4, three days after he walked out of a New York hospital
with gunshot wounds that he received in an alleged robbery of his house.

Believe it or not, Wu-Tang Clan mastermind Rza is following the lead of
producers-turned-artists Sean "Puffy" Combs and Jermaine Dupri... sort
of.
Puffy raps under the name Puff Daddy, Dupri goes by JD, and now Rza will
transform himself into a character named Bobby Digital for the
soundtrack to an upcoming straight-to-video movie of the same name.
Fans shouldn't rush out to their local video stores just yet though.
Only a handful of shots have been filmed for the movie, which doesn't
have a script yet.
However, those setbacks haven't stopped Rza from building a set or
donning his Bobby Digital costume for a recent round of interviews.
"The concept for the Bobby Digital film didn't just pop out of thin air
really," Rza explained to MTV News this week. "Bobby Digital was a
persona that exists within Rza. We added to it, and took it to the next
level, you know what I mean. We plan on having a Bobby Digital movie,
film, soundtrack as well as a comic book to follow."
Pressed to describe the character, Rza said, "He's like a modern day
superhero, you know w hat I mean. Everything he does is digital, whether
it's digital throug h the elegance of it or being digital through the
cyber connection of the Internet, through the computer world, through
video, music, comic, all brought together in one digital aspect."
The character of Bobby Digital is supposed to be a hip-hop superhero
with a brain like a computer who emerges when Rza smokes an elixir
called "honeydip."
The soundtrack, "Rza Presents Bobby Digital in Stereo," is out in
November, and is not to be confused with the Rza solo album that is due
early next year. There's no word yet on when the Bobby Digital movie
will arive.
One more thing on Rza, February 1999 is the suspected release of Rza's
'second' solo set.
